Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool

The Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool is a long and large rectangular pool located on the National Mall directly east of the Lincoln Memorial with the The United States World War II Memorial at its eastern terminus. Line by walking paths and shade trees on both sides it dramatically reflects the nearby monuments and memorials and expensive sky..  It was designed by Henry Bacon and  constructed from  1922 -1923 following the dedication of the Lincoln Memorial.. It is over one third of a mile long and 167 feet wide with a depth of 18 to 30 inches.
