Manassas Battle Field is the site of the first great battle of the
Civil War in June 1861 (Also known as the Battle of Bull Run) and a second great battle at the
same location in August 1862. At the 1861 battle
Confederate General Thomas J. Jackson, who's statue is a
centerpiece of the park, earned his nickname,
"Stonewall". The site includes a visitor
center/museum and a walking tour.
