Devoted to the collection, study and exhibition of firearms, The National Rifle Association’s National Firearms Museum houses one of the most extensive collections in the country with more than 2,000 historic firearms displayed in 13 permanent galleries.  The museum's mission is to promote gun collecting, and the preservation of the heritage of firearms.  Exhibits span the history of handheld  firearms—from mid 14th century guns to the latest in sporting rifles, shotguns and pistols.  Open:  Sunday through Friday: 9:30 AM to 5 PM  Saturday: 9:30 AM to 7 PM Admission: Free  Related Links: National Firearms Museum
