The Carlyle House is a 1753 house which was the home of colonial merchant John Carlyle served as the headquarters of British General Edward Braddock. It was at this house that General Braddock and other British officers under his command planned strategy for early battles in the French and Indian Wars. Open: Tue. - Sat. 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Sun. 12 - 4:30 p.m. (Last tour 4:30 p.m.) Closed Mon., Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Day.
